Crucis Mundum

Welcome to Crucis, a world similar to our own in landscape but little else. Split into six large territories these lands have given birth to a wealth of life and culture that has evolved quickly since the ancients destroyed themselves.

In the south lies Contis, a Mediterranean landscape that is home to the minotaur like Baal and the subjugated races of the Kunerga and Luamis. All who live on Contis find themselves subject to the often-harsh laws of the Noan Republic. Born from an aggressive and violent tribe of Baal, Noa forged its mighty empire through bloodshed and war.

Before their subjugation, the Goblin-like Kunerga were endemic to the Kiksuz mountains that straddle the middle of the continent. Years of harsh living on the mountains they worship gave the Kunerga nimble fingers, keen eyesight and cunning unrivalled by the other races of Crucis. Unfortunately, those living in the Republic, called the Ko by their oppressors, have been relegated to simple servants and attendants.

There are those Kunerga who managed to retain their freedom by fleeing to the island chain of Aknaz though. Without the oppression of the Noan’s, they have used their incredible skills and cunning to become the greatest craftspeople in Crucis. With incredible weapons at their disposal, the Kunerga of Aknaz are one of the only powers in Crucis that have managed to remain independent from Noa.

The cyclops Luamis were not as lucky. In their own tongue, they called themselves the Manok but even that was taken from them when the Noan’s invaded their homeland, the Polyphos Islands. By a strange quirk of biology, the Luamis are almost always born as twins. Due to Noan practises of separation at birth, most Luamis go through their lives never knowing the incredible bond between Diosk.

Every couple of generations a Luamis is born destined to create great change for their species. For better or worse. The Hólos are the few that are born without a Diosk and in the few surviving legends of the Manok, they are perfect beings and are identified by the dual pupils in their one eye. Rumour has it that the Gryphus Acantha, the leader of an organisation that reunites Diosk across the Republic is one such creature.
